Purísima Long Weekend in Andorra – Heavy Traffic Expected
Just a quick heads-up for those who may have forgotten: this weekend is the Purísima long weekend, one of the busiest of the year in Andorra. The combination of Christmas events, holiday shopping, and the opening of ski resorts attracts a large number of visitors.
- Heavy inbound traffic is expected today, Friday afternoon, especially at the Sant Julià entry point.
- Heavy outbound traffic is expected on Monday afternoon (December 8th), again via Sant Julià.
During the weekend:
- Expect traffic around ski resort access roads around 9:00 AM (opening time) and 5:00 PM (closing time).
- Traffic congestion is common throughout the afternoon and evening in the central parishes (Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany).
Recommendation: Minimize travel if possible, or plan your routes and schedules carefully to avoid delays.
